2017 Annual Conference Keynote Speakers Announced

Plans are well underway for the 2017 LSA Annual Conference, May 3-6 in Washington, DC. The largest event of the year, the Annual Conference celebrates LSA's national, strong and trusted network, bringing together hundreds of Lutheran social ministry leaders. We will welcome a dynamic slate of speakers for the Annual Conference, both from within our social ministry network and outside the network, including two of our keynote presenters.

2017 CEO Academy Keynote Speakers Announced 

The 2017 CEO Academy, to be held Jan. 29-Feb. 1, 2017 in sunny Safety Harbor, Florida, is a highly interactive, three-day event that brings together chief executives from leading Lutheran social ministry organizations to share, learn, and build connections. This year's agenda focuses on Seizing Opportunity, Realizing the Future, and features an exciting line-up of speakers.

Lutheran Services in America and the Annie E. Casey Foundation Bring Together Key Leaders to Improve Child Well-being Programs in the United States

Lutheran Services in America (LSA) is proud to announce a new partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation (AECF) to bring together key leaders serving children, youth, and families to participate in AECF's preeminent Results-Based Leadership Institute (RBLI). This collective work is made possible through the continued generous support of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, which has previously partnered with LSA on two prior learning cohorts.

2016 Provider Exchange® Launches Second Cohort at LSA Annual Conference

Lutheran Services in America (LSA) expanded its partnership with the Provider Exchange® at its annual conference in Minneapolis. The Provider Exchange® expands the work begun last year to provide technical assistance to 12 LSA members by adding seven LSA members to a new cohort to identify and implement best practices for youth at risk of aging out of the child welfare system to achieve permanency, either with a permanent family (through reunification, adoption or guardianship) or through a lifelong connection to a committed, caring adult.

Coming Together: Lutheran Social Ministry Network Meets in Minneapolis for Inspiring Annual Conference

The theme of the LSA 2016 Annual Conference was "Coming Together: Building the Path, Shining the Light," and this sentiment was felt throughout the keynote speakers, the breakout sessions, the community of practice meetings, the worship and the opportunities for fellowship and friendship. We were blessed with the participation of close to 350 people, our largest gathering in three years, engaged in the work of Lutheran social ministry, called to serve and guided by our mission to lift up our communities and amplify our voices.

LSA Disability Network Convenes in Carefree, AZ for 2016 Winter Meeting

Over 40 individuals representing 17 LSA-DN member organizations met this week in Carefree, AZ for the 2016 Winter Meeting. Attendees focused on addressing the huge issues of DSP recruitment and retention. Using real data from their organizations, Amy Hewitt from the University of Minnesota Institute on Community Integration walked us through what the data says about DSP staffing challenges, what we are currently doing well, and what could be done better.

Humanly Possible isn't just a tagline or a short-term plan, this new way of thinking has become a catalyst for disruptive innovation, strategic development and new partnership throughout the Front Porch organization.

The largest event of the year, the Annual Conference continues to build and celebrate LSA's national, strong and trusted network, bringing together hundreds of Lutheran social ministry leaders. At the conference, we'll focus on mission, impact and innovation – and how our network of social ministry organizations comes together to transform lives and communities.
