William Snyder named Vice President, System Leadership and Collaboration for Lutheran health and human services network
October 17, 2007 – Baltimore, MD – Lutheran Services in America (LSA) has named the Rev. William C. Snyder as Vice President, System Leadership and Collaboration effective November 12, 2007.
Jill Schumann, President and CEO, said, Bills knowledge of Lutheran social ministry, his experience in community services and on a senior leadership team, along with his theological training and experience as a pastor, make a perfect combination for LSA. We look forward to the growth he will bring to many LSA initiatives including our leadership development programs and connections between social ministry organizations and the church.
Since 1999, Synder has been with Lutheran Social Services of South Central Pennsylvania, based in York, most recently as Senior Vice President, Communication and Outreach Programs. In this role, he led and developed programs for community outreach, and provided leadership in fundraising, communication and public relations and marketing. He oversaw program directors for six outreach programs a deaf center, domestic abuse intervention program, case management services, senior companion program, counseling services, and child care. He also was a leader in developing the agencys disaster response capability and new collaborations for refugee resettlement in Central Pennsylvania.
Previously, Synder served Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations in York and Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania. He holds a Master of Sacred Theology degree from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and a Master of Divinity from Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary.
