Kirsten Jensen named Director of Aging and Multigenerational Strategies for Lutheran health and human services network

July 12, 2007 – Baltimore, MD – Lutheran Services in America (LSA) has named Kirsten Jensen as Director of Aging and Multigenerational Strategies effective July 1, 2007.

Jill Schumann, President and CEO, said, “Kirsten’s experience in both the public and private sectors is a rich resource for LSA. She will provide insightful analysis to the challenges and opportunities LSA member organizations face in engaging the talents of, and providing supports for, an aging population. We are particularly eager to mobilize the enormous capacity of the Lutheran system in innovative ways across generations.”

Since 1999, Jensen has been a health insurance specialist for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, focusing particularly on home-and community-based waivers and nursing home survey and certification. Her work included assessing, negotiating, and approving state home and community-based waiver applications, monitoring state performance nationally regarding the survey and certification program, designing information systems, and conducting federal and state relations.

Previously, Jensen was a long-term care equity research analyst with Legg Mason Wood Walker, a senior consultant with First Consulting Group, and a policy analyst with the American Association of Retired Persons. She is a published author on topics such as the United States long-term care industry and international long-term care finance and delivery systems.

She holds an MS in Gerontology and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Southern California.

Lutheran Services in America creates opportunities with people in thousands of communities throughout the United States and the Caribbean as an alliance of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, and their nearly 300 health and human service organizations. Working neighbor to neighbor through services in health care, aging and disability supports, community development, housing, and child and family strengthening, these organizations together touch the lives of one in 50 Americans each year.
