January 24, 2006 (Baltimore, MD) - Lutheran Services in America Receives Governor's Citation
To recognize the work of Lutheran Services in America, Maryland Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr., recently presented LSA with a Governor's citation.
The citation was presented on behalf of the citizens of Maryland and reads, in part, "in recognition of a special tribute to honor the devoted and outstanding work of Lutheran Services in America … in celebration of February 26 through March 8, 2006 as "Trading Graces Week" in Maryland; and as our citizens join together in expressing gratitude and admiration for the positive difference your organization makes by helping people and promoting strong communities, we are pleased to confer upon you this Governor's Citation."
"We are honored that Governor Ehrlich recognizes Lutheran Services in America and has also proclaimed February 26 through March 8, 2006 as "Trading Graces Week" in Maryland said Jill Schumann, President and CEO. "We hope the Governor's citation will serve as an inspiration and attract more individuals to get involved in Lutheran health and human service work as well as participate in the Trading Graces Online Auction."
Trading Graces Online Auction is the first annual fundraising/awareness auction to benefit Lutheran health and human service organizations around the country. The proceeds generated by the auction will go directly to each organization. The online auction, hosted on eBay, is scheduled to go live February 26 through March 8, 2006.
