Lutheran Services Florida is currently seeking a Director of Development to help LSF reconnect with supporters throughout Florida. The Director of Development, who reports to the Chief Strategy Officer, will ensure that LSF develops the financial resources necessary to sustain and expand ongoing operations and successfully completes fundraising goals.
Working closely with the CSO, the LSF Leadership Team & the CEO, the Director of Development must have an entrepreneurial spirit and be capable of working both independently and as a team member. The ideal candidate is a creative and organized individual with demonstrated professional success in relationship management, face-to-face solicitations, database management, and prospect research. Knowledge of Florida communities is strongly preferred, but not required. The Director of Development will join the team as an integral team member helping to rebuild our development function.
The Development Director will lead and conduct all efforts to raise money from businesses, foundations, and church-affiliated organizations. Additionally, the Director will develop, manage and engage in a hands-on approach to establishing relationships with existing and prospective major donors, including revising the LSF donor experience and major gift recognition programs as needed.
This is a full-time, exempt position. LSF is looking for candidates that reside in Florida but are open to the location within Florida. We anticipate traveling within Florida to meet with current and prospective donors (up to 75%). Reasonable accommodations may be made for otherwise qualified persons with disabilities.
LSF seeks a candidate with a minimum of five years relevant experience and a BA\BS degree from an accredited college. Master’s degree in relevant field and CFRE preferred.
