National nonprofit seeks a Senior Manager of Philanthropic Engagement to support resource development and donor engagement. The successful candidate will have proven success in relationship building with funders, deep knowledge of fundraising best practices, strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

Key responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Engagement manages a wide range of activities, including: drafting correspondence, managing gift acknowledgments, submitting letters of inquiry as well as interim/final progress reports to foundations and developing stewardship communications. The position is also responsible for maintaining donor records (hard and electronic), conducting prospect research and analysis, preparing donor briefings and responding to donor inquiries. The Senior Manager of Philanthropic Engagement will work closely with the Vice President of Development and Development Committee to sustain and grow contributed revenue from individuals, foundations and corporations. He/She is expected to meet with prospective donors and existing supporters on a continual basis to establish and grow relationships. He/She also collaborates closely with other departments in the organization and across the network to create donor-specific content. Limited travel is required (less than 10% of time).

Qualifications

The ability to establish priorities and complete work under tight deadlines with a demonstrated record of successful follow-through on tasks and goals. Desire to work as part of a team and collaboratively across the organization. Significant writing experience, including building compelling messaging for individuals, corporations, and foundations. Demonstrated ability to build and grow relationships with existing and prospective partners. General familiarity working in communications platforms and data management systems, with a willingness to learn new technologies as needed. Experience in using Moves Management or other similar tools for donor/prospect development.

Experience

Three or more years of experience in fundraising, marketing or equivalent fields of work.

Education

Undergraduate degree in related field
