Council for Human Resource Management (CHRM)
The Council for Human Resource Management (CHRM) is a professional network dedicated to the advancement of HR expertise and best practices both to strengthen employers' skills and to add value to those organizations and employees served. You don’t need to be in HR to join; all those who are employed by an LSA member organization and who have an interest in human resources and human resource solutions are welcome!

For over 20 years, the members of CHRM have
• Participated in organizational planning and decision-making related to human resource stewardship.
• Advocated for cultures and conditions that support staff in the provision of quality service.
• Provided educational formats through which resources and experiences can be shared.
• Assisted each other with specific issues or problems peculiar to the not-for-profit human resource world.
Member dues provide support for CHRM’s pre-conference in coordination with LSA’s Annual Conference (an opportunity to meet and learn from colleagues who know and understand your professional needs from a social ministry perspective), opportunities to meet regionally to address common concerns with other LSA affinity networks (such as the meeting in Louisville with the Lutheran Information Technology Network (LITN)), access to CHRM’s website and membership where resources and quick solutions to everyday issues can be shared, and pride in being a “People Helping People Helping People” kind of person.
CHRM is an active and vibrate network that:
- Provides professional networking opportunities
- Builds partnerships with LSA for purposes of consulting, advising and facilitating excellence in human resource management
- Aids agencies with limited HR expertise
- Provides training via conferences, communication via website, resources via surveys, manuals and other materials
