Grassroots Issue Groups
Decisions made in Washington have a monumental impact on the work of Lutheran health and human service providers. To that end, LSA has assembled "Issue Groups" to serve as resources and advocates on specific policy issues. Issue group volunteers advocate and spread the word when action is needed.
Issue Group members receive periodic updates by e-mail on their issues of concern. Other activities include educational conference calls and advocacy alerts.
Issue Groups Include:
| Long Term Care |
Children's Services |
| Home Health Care |
Hunger and Homelessness |
| Housing |
Criminalization of Youth |
| Disabilities Services |
Community Senior Services |
| International Adoption |
Immigration and Refugee Services |
New groups that have been formed around issues currently being considered by Congress and/or the Administration include:
Faith-Based and Community Initiative
State Fiscal Crisis
Welfare Reform
Workforce Shortage
Issue Group membership is currently open to the public. To be added to the listserv, please e-mail Katie Bolz at kbolz@lutheranservices.org.
