Affordable Housing

There are 15.5 million households in the United States who pay more than half of their income for housing, live in severely substandard housing or both.  The majority of these households (11 million) have extremely low incomes.  At the same time, our elders find that there is only one unit of affordable senior housing for every nine people in need.  Over one-third of persons with disabilities lives in poverty and has barriers to obtaining safe and affordable housing.  LSA will focus on legislation that will create and fund affordable housing for low-income families, the elderly and people with disabilities.
