The LSA Board of Directors articulates the
difference the work of LSA will make:

• Being Lutheran in social ministry is identifiable, valued and supported by social ministry organizations, church bodies, and communities.
  
  
• The Lutheran social ministry system of services is strengthened, enhanced and better integrated.
  
  
• Lutheran social ministry organizations have the ability to thrive and serve.
  
  
• Lutheran social ministry organizations have an effective voice for service and justice to church, to government and to society.
  
  
• ELCA and LCMS (including churchwide, districts/synods and congregations) utilize and embrace social ministry organizations for service and witness.
