We're looking forward to convening our LSA network during the Annual Conference, April 20-23 to enjoy fellowship, renew friendships and build relationships within our Lutheran social ministry community.
While at the conference, there are a variety of opportunities to connect, network and celebrate, including longer breaks to allow you more time to connect; networking meals; multiple social events and multiple gatherings for our communities of practice and working groups. This year, we've also added a tour on Thursday afternoon for those who wish to explore more of San Antonio's rich history.
Below are highlights of the social events you can take advantage of as a conference attendee – all are included with your registration (with the exception of the optional Missions tour on Thursday afternoon). Some are by invitation, and are noted as such.

Connect the Dots Reception

You're invited to the popular "Connect the Dots" welcome reception on Tuesday evening to celebrate our fellowship and gathering at the Annual Conference! Hosted at the “Lonesome Dove” room at the nearby convention center, this reception will feature appetizers and refreshments. Mingle and network with your friends and colleagues from the Lutheran social ministry community in a fun, Texas-themed setting. LSA will recognize our LSA Networks during the program. Special thanks to the LSA-Disability Network and Lutheran Executive Alumni Network (LEAN) for their support of the Connect the Dots reception. Bus transportation will be provided; guests also have the option to walk from the Hyatt.
CEO Roundtable & Luncheon - by invitation only
Wednesday, April 22 -- 12:00pm - 1:30pm
By invitation to LSA member CEOs, this session convenes the heads of LSA's member organizations for an open forum discussion on current trends and topics affecting the network. This will be followed by a luncheon to honor CEOs who are retiring from the LSA network.

San Antonio Missions & Market Square Tour
Thursday, April 23 -- 2:00-5:30 pm
Departs from the Hyatt Regency main entrance
$45 per person – advance registration required (via the conference registration site, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org)
Cost includes: first-class transportation, certified tour guide, applicable admission fees, taxes, gratuities.
Explore the history of and charm of the city of San Antonio – extend your Annual Conference experience with an afternoon to explore the picturesque San Antonio Missions and Market Square shops featuring traditional Mexican handicrafts.
Your tour includes:
- Tour of Mission San Jose, known as the "Queen of the Missions," - the largest of the San Antonio missions and home to “Rosa's Window,” considered one of the finest pieces of Spanish Colonial ornamentation in the country.
- Tour of San Juan Capistrano mission, originally founded in eastern Texas in 1716 and then transferred to its present location on the banks of the San Antonio River in 1731.
- Tour of Mission Concepcion - America's oldest unrestored stone church
- Visit to Market Square, a traditional shopping district in downtown San Antonio and the largest Mexican shopping center in the city.
You're welcome to stay as long as you like at Market Square, which is located not far from the Hyatt Regency, or return to the hotel on the bus. The bus is scheduled to return to the Hyatt by 5:30 p.m.
Wine & the Word Welcome Reception – Full!
Monday, April 20 -- 5:30pm - 6:30 pm
A special reception will be held Monday evening to kick-off the conference and welcome members to San Antonio. Light refreshments will be served in an informal setting. Kurt Senske, President and CEO of our host member Lutheran Social Services of the South will provide a special devotion inspired by his book, Wine & the Word.
