In December 2014, President Obama signed the ABLE Act into law, allowing people with disabilities to save their own money to pay for long-term services and supports expenses. So what comes next? When can an individual open an account and start using it? What kind of expenses can be paid for out of these accounts ... and how are expenses tracked?

Learn the answers to these questions and more during this free webinar, hosted by the Lutheran Services in America Disability Network (LSA-DN) and featuring national and state experts: Chris Rodriguez, National Disability Institute; Heather Sachs, National Down Syndrome Society; and a Kentucky state advocate. The webinar will be moderated by Sarah Meek, Director of Public Policy and Advocacy for LSA-DN.

They will explain how the ABLE Act is implemented both at the national and state levels, as well as discuss how you can get involved to ensure that ABLE account rules best meet the needs of people with disabilities. We will take questions during the webinar.

This webinar is designed for LSA-DN members, members of LSA, partners of LSA-DN members, people who work at social ministry organizations in service of people with disabilities, program staff of health and human service agencies, providers of care, and advocates and self-advocates with an interest in how the ABLE Act will be implemented.
