Policy Priorities

LSA’s Public Policy office works to ensure the voices of our members are heard at the federal level, in part by seeking policy change that aligns with our member-informed priorities.  Each spring, LSA releases its policy priorities for the year.  This agenda is crafted in consultation with LSA members, and is intended to guide our efforts to make an impact and shape the conversation at the national level.

2016 Policy Priorities

Currently under development, LSA’s 2016 policy agenda will focus on Children, Youth, and Families; Older Adults; the Federal Budget and Fiscal Year 2017 Appropriations; and Nonprofit Sector Issues.

Children, Youth, and Families

LSA is pleased to unveil the first prong of our comprehensive policy platform, which focuses on Children, Youth, and Families.  Learn more about our policy goals and efforts to improve well-being and outcomes for children, youth, families, and communities.

Next Steps

In the coming months, LSA will unveil policy priorities in our other key issue areas for 2016.  Contact LSA’s Director of Public Policy and Advocacy, Lindsey Copeland, to learn more.

LSA Member Policy Survey Results

In 2014, LSA members took part in a survey about their public policy and advocacy practices and priorities. The goal of the survey was to better understand what LSA advocacy activities are currently of the most value to member organizations.  Click here to see the full results.
