Lutheran Services in America Applauds Senators for Defending
Seniors, Children and People with Disabilities
WASHINGTON—Charlotte Haberaecker, President and CEO of Lutheran Services in America, issued the following statement following the (49-51) vote in the Senate on the Health Care Freedom Act:
"Earlier this morning Senators voted to protect the most vulnerable Americans.
"By voting to reject the Health Care Freedom Act, Senators rejected not only a flawed bill, but also cast a vote in favor of protecting the seniors, children and people with disabilities who rely on Medicaid.
"Lutheran Services in America applauds the 51 Senators who voted to save Medicaid."
