American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

On February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) into law, which is now Public Law 111-16. Many of LSA's public policy priority areas were affected, as noted in the February 16 edition of LSA Washington. Funding through ARRA is mainly through states and cities with some funds available directly from the federal government. For more information, please click here.

Health Care Reform- Affordable Care Act

On March 23, 2010, President Barack Obama signed into law the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Widely regarded as the most far-reaching health care reform legislation in more than 40 years, the law includes many provisions of interest to nonprofit organizations. LSA has compiled a list of resources to help LSA member organizations navigate the changes instituted by the Affordable Care Act; more information can be found here.
