ELCA Seeks Proposals for Projects Impacting Children and the Elderly

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for projects that impact children and the elderly.

Two endowments—Lutheran Services for the Elderly Endowment and Lutheran Services for Children Endowment—provide seed monies for programs that represent the most successful model for innovative service delivery. The endowments enable and support programs of service and/for education in areas related to aging persons and children.

ELCA is seeking program proposals that demonstrate how the proposed project holds promise for impacting larger and larger constituencies in the future. The model must be well defined, replicable and available to other agencies.

Applications are open to ELCA-related ministries, Lutheran organizations (including affiliated social ministry organizations), colleges/universities/seminaries and outdoor ministries. Applications are also open to non-Lutheran organizations, preferably involving Lutheran organizations or individuals in planning or implementation.

Funding awards include $25,000 for a one year grant request, $50,000 for a two year grant request and $75,000 for a three year grant request.

Letters of intent are due November 1, 2017 and proposals are due December 15, 2017. Awards will be made on January 15, 2018 with a start date of February 1, 2018.
