New White Paper: Pursuing Permanency
Having a lifelong connection with a caring adult is key to the future success of youth aging out of the foster care system. Such relationships establish “permanency” and help these young people navigate the transition to adulthood and beyond. Without permanency, youth who age out of the system experience higher rates of incarceration and economic instability. Recently seven Lutheran Services in America members came together to build their capacity to find and facilitate permanency options for older youth in foster care and those who recently aged out of care.
